Extraordinary Augusg

This month greeted me with lots of excitement.

First, being on a new assignment since mid July, have been conscientiously learning the ropes. The area of Human Resource is new to me and, thankfully, Malcolm has been rather helpful to send me materials for the online newsletter, published fortnightly.

I took on an editing assignment for a 180-page book in Facilitating Transfromation. Glad to been given the opportunity to pursue my dream career. Praying for God's help to do a good job so I can be accorded more assignment of this nature.

I met Mike, Corona, Kate and Sharrie on 7 August. Mike's family and I went to Jambo Seafood where he enjoyed the chilli Crabs and Bens And Jerrys where Ice-cream was Kate's delight. Following which, Mike came over to my place for a short catch-up.

This year, for a change, I went to Lee Cheng's for one night, where we went to attend FCBC's first Saturday evening's service in TCT and spent sunday relaxing in the pool and celebrated the Nation's 44 BirthDay with relatives she invited.

Met Auntie Lee and David Chua at Thomson Plaza that afternoon with Amanda and Lee Cheng, while having lunch at the food court.

Ongoing project is the Archifest 2009, to recruit potential companies to come onboard Breezeto5 platform. I really hope we can fill up the 300 vacancies allocated for this exhibition to take place from 9/13 October.

Sam recommended me an interview, 'Dialogue In The Dark', a social enterprise project of Ngee Ann Polytechnic on 20 July. Glen call me on Friday evening informing me I have been selected for training from 1-13 October and to find out my preferred working schedule with them. Also had the opportunity to catch up with Aaron since our last meeting in 2002.

Cheng Hock arranged for me to undergo O & M with an American lady Jamie that completed last thursday, as part of the process of acquiring a guidedog as my guide. It is heartening that her assessment has been positive and she would return in Jan 2010 to assess the group again, to better prepare us for this possibility.

17 August was the last time I get to meet up with Nan sheng Gege and family for they have relocated to Boston for a couple of years to pursue his theological studies. It was a great time catching up with friends I've not met, some of them for years, for example, Billy Koh and Samuel Chong who I met 3 days before while he was part of the Cast from JiaXi Media performing a play at TC, "Life No Take 2". I had the privelege to meet him when he was a young producer in 1993 at the SBC, shooting a promo for wataboshi concert at the Yamaha Studio at Plaza Singapura. To my surprise, He could still recognise me and came to say hello. Likewise, he did the same thing at NanSheng Gege Farewell gathering.

Thankfully, Pan Ying gave me a lift home as it was late, about 11pm when the event ended.

On 29 August, we went to sell flags for TCS and Bevien and I had a wonderful time catching up and approaching the public.

Ah Hwa is on her annual visit to Singapore with her 2 daughters, and we managed to meet up on 2 occasions. Thank God for this opportunity.

I have been rather lethargic for the last 2 weeks. Hopefully, will get better.

These are some highlights for the month of August. Don't know what's installed in September?
